I Love Shopping (for Coffee)

Hot morning, must want eggs to milk your bacon good.
Do we hug what delicious get-up the bad wireless need?

Cook a sugar dad meal like lunch
we cool to mum and tea
My cable butter
today calls me;

Stop paying more, yes?
Want bad lunch hug and,
need to get hot butter to it.

  • a poem written using magnets on a friends fridge, some time ago… A lone survivor of many magnetic poems – perhaps this was the best?
  • nb – this was written when wireless used to mean radio!

Dwaal

Sight of pretty morning dawning, sets birds’ light with songful yawning.
Whilst glory flames see no-one mourning, I rely on eyes adorning.

You, my pretty flunky bonny, catch the blinks of very many.
Realise you are the honey. Take them when they turn in money.

Still I pace with docile wonder; tease you freely as you ponder…
While I sleep I see you wander – know not how, though, you meander.

In the pulse of plentied diction, can’t explain your contradiction
though I feel you are no fiction, how does this then pass distinction?

Here at light; the crack of daybreak, you should find this meal a peace cake.
Free yourself from your bleak cellmate.
Stand tall, my bonny: Loose the fear brake.

Day Light

(for) Morning our sun
breaks early, shines fierce –
lighting up all.
Drying puddles of tears.
Heralds each day begun,
the end of night fears!

So time moves along,
wakes new eyes to ideas,
lends broke hearts a new song;
shouts love on deaf ears.
I ponder the motions
through this mind so naive
so wrapped up with questions –
how I’m s’posed to achieve?

The glorious sun
catches dreams, feeds the breeze
keeps my loves all-day-warm
yet I long for a piece…
from here I spy a gloom
which promises ease
I fight with these notions,
to stand here on my feet.

A wonder undone
every thought a disease?
Where’s the answer I long
what to do to appease?
As the rising horizon
comes again from the east
where are all my dreams flowing?
Is there peace in this sleep?

At last my mind’s numb
floats in hoops and queries
another sunny day gone
Left my head just memories.
Yet, morning our sun
breaks early shines fierce.

In come the faces
fresh with night and leaving traces
Placing the fresh faces in places
In the sweet night lost
in bass races

You are on my mind
In time with tranquil nights I find
Though finally in mists of time
These friendly traces
lose their place in line!

Quiet Night Sleepy

Open a window –
To let in the sound of the dark of the night.
Listen –
The hissing;
The whirring the murmurs:
A humming drone deafens your sleep-centred thoughts.
That silent sigh slips to the front of your mind.
A silence not broken,
A quietness defined.
So laying awake at the dawn of the morning
A wide open window –
For sleep-needy eyes.
